Throughout the summer months each resort and village in the French Alps has a series of events on its programme each week. These events can range from the famous Tour de France, Mondial du VTT in Les Deux Alpes and the MTB passportes du Soleil in Les Gets to more gentle activties such as workshops, concerts, fetes and specific kids days out. Here are a few examples :

Les Deux Alpes (30th June – 3rd July 2011)

Mondial du VTT 2011 Free Raid Classic VTT Mag

Free Raid Classic, Biker Croûte and the Free Kids for 9-14 year olds.

Outdoor Mountain Biking exhibition, mountain bike rides, equipment trials and demonstrations.

30^th – Mavic Free Trial

Pure endurance an energetic and demanding race without using the ski lifts. The Free Trail covers technical terrain with a great difference in altitude. For marathon addicts!
Prize money to be won.

Starting line in the snow on the Les 2 Alpes glacier at 2600mt at 11.am.
A meal will be served at the end of the race. (5.30pm)

Bike registration plates collect between 8am and 10am on registration tent.
A medical certificate or license is compulsory on the day of the event.

1^st July – La Biker Croute

A contemplative ride, including a convivial outdoor meal at the “Molière”.
Ski lifts are at your disposal.

Two meeting Point and bike registration plates collect :
Departure B - at the Tourist Office (departure from Jandri Express)
Departure C - Information Point at the end of the resort (departure from Diable gondola)

This time, along with instructors & exhibiting brands, Mountain bike lovers can dig out their old material, accessories and bikes.

2^nd July - MCF Free Kids

Circuits for the 9-14 years old, on a specially adapted course under the supervision of 'Moniteurs Cyclistes Français' - French qualified cycling instructors.

The Free Raid Classic VTT MAG, Saturday 2nd July and Sunday 3rd July, 2011
A legendary event: a rando-raid with ski lifts are at your disposal.

A meal will be served at midday near the MONDIAL DU VTT exhibition area.
Time departure: 9am or 10am

No matter with the departure point you choose because at the end the loop will be the same but in different order:

Annecy (6th – 11th June 2011)

International Festival of Animated Films

Every year since 1960 at the beginning of June Annecy is the meeting-place for the world of Animated Films Presentation and showing of films in competition in various theatres in the town, homages, retrospectives, exhibitions
Giant-screen showings every evening on the Paquier. Entry free.

Projections from 10.30 a.m. to 11 p.m. in 8 sites spread around the town, and late night open-air shows on a giant screen by the lakeside.
