Les 2 Alpes
has one of the highest ski areas in the world,
and from 2800 to 3600 metres (11 800 ft),
between 18 June and 28 August 2011 the largest
skiable glacier (110 hectares) in Europe is
open for Summer skiing and snowboarding. With a
variety of runs in a relaxed summer atmosphere
Summer skiing is for everyone from complete
beginners to more expert skiers or boarders
looking to enjoy something different. You can
even mix with professional snowboarders who
come from all over the Europe for training.
Summer skiing is done in the morning until
lunchtime leaving the rest of the day for more
traditional summer activities in Les Deux
Alpes.
Les Deux Alpes is very much Europe's capital of

Tignes
is also another hotspot for summer skiing in
the French Alps. The Glacier rises from 2700m

From its summit of 3656m, the Grand Motte
glacier dominates the surrounding area. The
Grande Motte Glacier is open during the summer
months and ideal for any ability. The Grande
Motte Glacier is normally open from the latter
part in June until the end of August everyday
from around 7am to 1pm.
